I have been an RN since 1985 and have worked in women's health since then. My first hospital job was in the post partum department in a busy San Diego hospital. I then moved into the nursery and then finally to labor and delivery, where I found my "home". Upon moving to northern California, I continued to enjoy my labor and delivery career at John Muir Medical Center from 1990-2005. I also completed my master's degree in nursing during that time to become a nurse practitioner. I have been with OB-GYN Specialists since 2001. The best things about my job are helping women to be as healthy as they can be, and collaborating with the group of physicians and nurse practitioner that I work with to provide the best care possible.
In my off time, I enjoy hiking, running, reading and travel with my husband and two adult children.

I am a Certified Nurse Midwife and Registered Nurse with previous experience as a DONA-trained doula. I am an experienced practitioner in women's primary care, reproductive health, gynecology, ante/intra/postpartum and newborn care, as well as family planning. While my training was performed in the Pacific Northwest, my first experience was working at a birth center and clinic in Weslaco, Texas. I am proud to be providing care at OB-GYN Specialists and believe in our philosophy of women caring for women.
Nurse Midwives can see you for a wide range of obstetrical and gynecological matters from adolescence to beyond menopause, focusing on health promotion and disease prevention. As a midwife I believe in patient centered care and that pregnancy is a normal and healthy process. I strive to impart a sense of empowerment for women to participate in their healthcare and care for their bodies.
I am thrilled to be caring for women in an office setting at this time, taking a break from deliveries to focus on women's healthcare. I particularly enjoy discussing preventative health, finding the best contraceptive for each woman, and providing prenatal care that includes the whole family.
With my spare time I like to travel the world, backpack and hike in nature, bike, and cook wholesome food to eat!
